Hey there, Entrepreneur! 👋
This Week’s Question
Let me hit you with a question that's been punching me in the face lately:
What are you doing today that your future self will actually thank you for?
Not tolerate.
Not regret.
Not "wish you had done more with."
But thank you for.
If we're honest, most of what we stress over in our day-to-day isn't about our future selves at all. It's scrambling to put out fires… managing tasks instead of momentum… reacting instead of building.
Alignment Over Perfection
Your life changes when your daily actions line up with the person you're becoming, not the situation you're currently in.
This idea shows up all throughout Benjamin Hardy's book Be Your Future Self Now, where he writes:
“Your future self should be the driver of your present decisions, not your present circumstances”
That line hit me hard.
Because most entrepreneurs live the opposite way. Our present circumstances scream the loudest, so they end up running the show.
But when you flip that equation, when your future self becomes the one calling the shots, something powerful happens:
• You stop aiming for perfect days
• You start aiming for aligned days
Aligned with the business you're building.
Aligned with the life you want.
Aligned with the identity you're stepping into.
And that's the magic.

Purposeful Days, Not Perfect Ones
This isn't about hitting 10/10 days.
This isn't about never missing a workout, a call block, a deadline, or a revenue goal.
This is about doing the things right in front of you with purpose, because they're connected to a vision that's bigger than today.
Hardy talks about this when he says:
"Your identity is based on where you're going, not on where you've been."

And if that's true, and I believe it is, then every action you take today is shaping that identity.
Even the small stuff.
Especially the small stuff.
Those "small" actions that actually matter:
• Answering that one email you've been avoiding
• Finishing the process you know will save you hours later
• Posting the video even though you think you "look tired"
• Following up with the lead even though you're afraid it's too late
• Writing the vision for the next 3 months, not the next 30 years
Those aren't tasks.
Those are identity reps.
Every single one of them is a brick in the person you're becoming.
Your Next Phase Requires a Different You
Here's something most entrepreneurs wrestle with (including me):
We want the next level of results… while staying the same person we've always been.
But the version of you who hits your goals isn't magically wiser, more confident, or more disciplined.
They're forged.
Created by reps.
Built one uncomfortable action at a time.
"The biggest threat to your future self is your comfort zone."
And man… doesn't that just call us out?
That next phase in your business?
That revenue you want?
That version of yourself who leads calmly, who delegates, who makes quick decisions, who stops procrastinating…?
You don't "step into" that person you become that person by doing the uncomfortable things today.
Think about it this way: Every time you choose the harder option, the one that builds instead of just maintains, you're casting a vote for who you're becoming.

Comfort zone votes vs. Growth votes:
• Comfort: Avoiding the difficult conversation
• Growth: Having the conversation that moves things forward
• Comfort: Managing everything yourself
• Growth: Documenting and delegating one process
• Comfort: Staying in "planning mode" forever
• Growth: Launching before you feel ready
Your future self isn't some perfect version of you. They're just someone who was willing to be uncomfortable more often than comfortable.
Failure Is the Entrance Fee for Your Future Self
One of Hardy's core principles is that your future self is formed by your willingness to fail forward.
I love that.
Because it reframes failure the way entrepreneurs actually need to see it:
Not as evidence you're not good enough.
But as proof you're in the transformation process.
Your future self isn't some perfect, polished, all-knowing version of you. They're just a you who was willing to:
• Try the new thing
• Launch before you felt ready
• Build the system that intimidated you
• Record the video
• Raise your prices
• Make the ask
• Take the risk
Failure doesn't disqualify you. It forges you.

You are becoming the person worthy of holding the vision you've created.
And here's the kicker: Your future self already knows this. They're not worried about the failures you're avoiding today. They're grateful for every time you were brave enough to try.
Today, Not Someday
Instead of a checklist, keep it simple: choose one honest, aligned action today. Let it be small. Let it be true. Let it move you forward.
So Here's the Real Question…
What can you do TODAY that your future self would high-five you for?
Not next week.
Not when you "have more time."
Not when business slows down or speeds up or finally feels organized.
Today.
Maybe it's documenting one system.
Maybe it's following up with 3 leads.
Maybe it's 20 minutes of planning instead of just reacting.
Maybe it's building the landing page.
Maybe it's doing the uncomfortable thing you've been avoiding for months.
It doesn't have to be huge. It just has to be aligned.
Your future self is already out there somewhere: running a more efficient business, making better decisions, living a more focused life.
Every small action today is you meeting them halfway.
The Bottom Line
Here's what I know to be true: The gap between where you are and where you want to be isn't closed by perfect days or massive breakthroughs.
It's closed by aligned days. Days where your actions, however small, are connected to the bigger picture.
Your future self isn't waiting for you to figure it all out. They're waiting for you to start building the bridge, one action at a time.
